About our company
The company was founded in 1998 with the corporate name of BHIA – EQUIPAMENTOS METÁLICOS, LDA.
BHIA SA is currently located in an industrial facility with a total area ofapproximately 1.000m2.
Since its foundation, the company has been dedicated to the manufacture and sale of fire-fighting systems, as well as all types of boxes for the storage of a wide range of fire-fighting equipment.
The company simultaneously sells the most diverse types of fire-fighting equipment such as fire extinguishers, landing valves or globe type fire hydrants, automatic water fire extinguishing systems (sprinklers, control posts, water flow’s), etc.
We are committed to constant innovation, constantly investing in the development of new types of equipment, machined parts, molds, tools and prototypes, as well as in the consolidation and improvement of quality levels, applying our more than 25 years of experience at our customers disposal, in a constant search for the best price/quality solutions for our customers.
Quality
2004
BHIA SA obtained the CE Conformity Certificate for the product “Fire Hydrants Armed with Semi-Rigid Hoses”, for the models in the 20 and 25m strands, it also held the license to use the Certified Product Brand. In this way, it ensured that the products complied with the requirements established in the then NP EN 671-1-2003.
2010
On this date, BHIA SA obtained the same certification, now with a length of 30m of hose.
2011
BHIA SA obtained certification for all its models also for boxes made of stainless steel.
2020
It made the changes recommended in Ordinance No. 135/2020 of June 2, changing the nozzle of its equipment.
2020
On this date, BHIA SA obtained the Certificate for all its equipment for the use of white hose (semi-rigid).
All products are subject to production control and additional tests on samples taken at the factory, in accordance with a pre-established test plan. The certifying body, in addition to the initial type tests for the relevant characteristics of the product and the initial audit of the factory and production control, carries out the continuous monitoring, evaluation and approval of the production control at the factory.
Currently, BHIA SA is certified by APCER for the quality management system with the manufacturing process in accordance with NP EN ISO 9001:2015 (Certificate No. 2013/CEP.4378) and with CE marking in accordance with EN 671-1:2012 with Regularity of Performance no. 0866-CPR-2013/CE.0172.
